Married couple bring home two more chess golds

Nguyen outlasted Malaysia’s Sim Jia Ru while her husband, grandmaster Son, defeated Megaranto Susanto of Indonesia to enter the finals where they both faced opponents from Singapore. Nguyen claimed victory over Gong Qianyun just a few minutes before Son’s win over Tin Jingyao, taking two more gold medals for Vietnam at the regional games. Couple win gold medals just minutes apart at SEA Games
Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, 32, and his wife Pham Le Thao Nguyen, 34, won the men's and women's rapid chess titles in Hanoi. Each saw off opponents from Singapore with just minutes between their victories. Thao Nguyen finished a bit earlier and then quietly waited for her husband to seal his win. "During the game we were worried for each other," Thao Nguyen said, according to Vietnam News Agency. "This was our first experience like this." Despite trade activities between the nation and South American nations seeing growth in recent times, it remains far from fulfilling its full potential, especially for the textile and garment sector, according to industry insiders. Pencak Silat fighter Tran Dinh Nam was the first to open the ‘golden rain’ when he excellently defeated his Singaporean rival in the final of the men’s 70-75kg class. The ‘golden rain’ continued with the gold bagged by Pencak Silat fighter Le Van Toan in the men’s over 110kg class. National Week for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control 2022

VJA rolls out emulation and rewards affairs for 2022
VJA Chairman Le Quoc Minh who is also Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and Head of the VJA’s emulation and reward council attended the event.
