PANO – Numerous handicraft products made by local ethnic people have been bought by a large number of tourists visiting Sa Pa district, Lao Cai province during special holidays and events. Memorial service for fallen soldiers held in Hue
The 16 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors were collected during the 2021-2022 dry season by Martyrs’ Remains Search and Repatriation Team 192 under the Thua Thien Hue provincial Military Command. SEA Games 31: Two more judo golds for Vietnam
Chu Duc Thang Dat championed the men’s 60kg after convincingly defeating Lao opponent Sithisane Soukphaxay in the final held at Hanoi’s Hoai Duc Gymnasium. Dat told reporters after the competition that he is happy to bring glory to his nation, for the coaching board, his team and family. It is the first gold medal he has ever won, he said, adding that SEA Games 31 is also the first international tournament he has competed in. The other gold went to Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy who claimed a victory over the Philippines’ Pabulayan Khrizzie in the final of the women’s 52kg. Thuy cried tears of joy as she was declared the winner. Artist Phan Văn Đắc has created over 700 artworks from dried banana barks. Living in a small alley in coastal Đồng Hới City in the central province, the 80-year-old artist is often seen trimming and glueing rough-dried banana barks together to create pictures with the themes of nature, history or war.
