Vietnam expands relations with ASEAN Partners
Canada, New Zealand, and the UK are three out of 11 Dialogue Partners of ASEAN. Vietnam’s Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son held a series of meetings with his counterparts of ASEAN Partners on the sidelines of the 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM-55) and Related Meetings held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on August 3. Military Region 2 and Lao military units boost cooperation
The event was co-chaired by Military Region 2’s Commander Major General Pham Hong Chuong and Commanding Officer of Division 2 of the Laos People’s Army Colonel Khamdy Xayyavong. At the event, the delegates evaluated that over the past time, Military Region 2 of Vietnam and Lao military units in the North, including Division 2, Division 3, Non-commissioned Officer School No.1 and provincial military commands of Bokeo, Luang Namtha, Houaphanh, Xayabury, Xiangkhouang, Phongsaly, Luang Prabang, Oudomxay, have well carried out the memorandum of understanding signed at the conference in January, 2021. Lao province seeks cooperation in ancient town preservation with Quang Nam

Workshop promotes Lao Cai – India tourism cooperation

Photographer Lam Duc Hien of World Press Photo Contest fame sat down with Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper during his time at the 2022 Hue Festival to reflect on the portraits that made his name, the life-or-death experiences, and the state of modern photojournalism after spending three decades in the ever-changing industry. How did you get your start in photography? At the beginning, I did not even plan to do photography professionally. It started when I joined a non-governmental organization (NGO) because I want to help people. I went to Romania with them in 1990 and they asked me to take pictures. ASL LAW successfully defends in lawsuit against circumvention of trade remedies
On August 1, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No.1514/QD-BCT on the application of measures to prevent the evasion of trade remedies for some cane sugar products originating from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar (AC02.AD13-AS01). The conclusion from the Ministry of Industry and Trade on six businesses not being subject to anti-circumvention tax on trade remedies, including two customers of ASL LAW According to Decision No.1514, Vietnam will apply measures to prevent the evasion of trade remedies for a number of cane sugar products under HS codes 1701.13.00, 1701.14.00, 1701.91.00, 1701.99.10, 1701.99.90, and 1702.90.91. The above cane sugar products are imported into Vietnam from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar. Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son attends 29th ARF in Phnom Penh
Participants affirmed the ARF is the most important forum of ASEAN to promote dialogue and mutual understanding. They reviewed the operation and proposed development orientations of the forum in the time to come. The attending foreign ministers welcomed the implementation of trust-building activities and preventive diplomacy, through which trust was enhanced and cooperation expanded. They agreed to give priority to cooperation in the areas of disaster relief, terrorism and transnational crime combat, maritime security, defense, peacekeeping, counter-proliferation of nuclear weapons, and disarmament, and agreed on a list of activities for the 2022-2023 period.
