Addressing the closing ceremony, he said it was Vietnam’s honour to welcome distinguished guests and more than 10,000 athletes, coaches, and referees to SEA Games 31 - the region’s biggest sporting event. The PM noted the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Games to be delayed from November 2021 to May 2022, but it has made the countries become even closer together, more united, and determined to weather all difficulties and challenges to successfully organise SEA Games 31. The show will present to music lovers the Candide Overture by Leonard Bernstein which was the most popular piece of contemporary classical music ever written; L'Arlésienne Suite No. 2 by Georges Bizet; Gabriel Faure’s Volin Concerto in D Minor, and John Adams’s Short Ride in a Fast Machine; and Poeme et Danse of Vietnamese-American composer P.Q. Phan. The musical works will be performed by pianist Vincent Adragna, Vietnamese-American violinist Vu Viet Chuong (Chuong Vu) and artists of the HBSO under the baton of Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji. Commenting on the US tourist market, a representative of Saigontourist company said that this is one of the major tourist markets. Every year, the company welcomes and serves about 30,000 US tourists for tours into Vietnam by air and sea routes. According to the present schedule, in 2022 and 2023, the Saigontourist company is expecting to receive a total of 23 cruise ships, with an estimated number of 22,550 tourists from the US alone. Hanoi university cooperates with Italian partner to improve training quality
The cooperation is expected to take effect at the beginning of the school year 2022 - 2023. Hanoi University (HANU) has discussed many educational cooperation opportunities with Italy’s Ferrara University (Unife) to improve training quality for its students, HANU’s Rector Nguyen Van Trao. SEA Games 31: Vietnam defend women’s football champions
The Vietnamese women earn SEA Games gold medals for the third consecutive times. Vietnam defeated Thailand 1-0 to win gold medals in SEA Games 31, the seven of its kind in Southeast Asia’s biggest sports tournament in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2009, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
