Luong Thuy Linh The grand final of Miss World 2019 will see each representative perform a traditional dance from the contestant’s respective nation in the Dances of The World segment. Vietnamese entrant Thuy Linh has been hard at work preparing a bespoke dance sequence that involves a golden tray. The dance requires plenty of technique and has given the beauty difficulty to learn. During the performance she will wear an outfit by local designer Thuy Nguyen. Thuy Linh is a 19-year-old from Cao Bang province. She was crowned Miss World Vietnam 2019 in August and stands at 1.77 metres tall. She is currently a student at the Hanoi Foreign Trade University. HCM City International Music Festival opens
At the event (Source: nhandan.org.vn) HCM City (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh City International Music Festival 2019 (HOZO 2019) kicked off at the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, District 1, HCM City on December 13. According to the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, its organiser, the three-day festival is part of HCM City’s strategic investment plan to develop the city’s cultural industry until 2020. HOZO 2019 offers a precious opportunity for traditional music to merge with modern music, spreading the value of national music and culture to the world. A variety of performances are offered during the festival, from jazz and pop to traditional music. Logistics centres to be taken shape in HCM City

It was part of a project on logistics development in HCM City built by the municipal Department of Industry and Trade, aiming to minimise logistic costs. On March 20, the Vietnam Logistics Association (VLA) and the municipal Department of Industry and Trade, organised a seminar discussing promoting the development of logistics services in the city, drawing representatives from nearly 100 firms in the field. Vietnamese musicians nominated for German awards

(Source: thanhnien.vn) Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese musicians Nguyen Le and Ngo Hong Quang have been nominated for Echo Jazz 2018, a prestigious jazz award hosted by the ACT Music recording company. The winners will be announced on May 31 in Hamburg, Germany. Nguyen Le (real name Le Thanh Nguyen), 59, is a French Vietnamese. He has been nominated in the International Guitar Artist category. Ngo Hong Quang, 35, has been nominated for the Instrumentalist of the Year, Various Instruments category. He is a graduate of the Traditional Instruments Department of the Vietnam Music Academy and has a master’s degree in contemporary composing from the National Music Academy in the Netherlands. ICT contest in HCMC honors practical ideas for smart city development
This year’s HCMC ICT Contest is themed ‘Journey to a Smart City’ and was launched in August 2019. Until October 31, 2019, it received 65 papers, which were carefully evaluated in November for the awards ceremony to be held in December 2019. Many of these papers are from state organizations and in the fields of digital transformation, Internet of Things, smart operation, and practical applications for citizens.
