Around 2,400 baby fish and sea cucumbers have been released to Nha Trang Bay to increase and diversify the marine environment. The activity was launched by the bay’s management board at Hon Mun Island area on May 29. The event marked World Bio-diversification Day, May 25, and the World Environment Day, June 5. Over 40 dogs have been registered to participate in a canine beauty pageant held in Nha Trang City this Tet. The contest was held by the Nha Trang Dog Club on February 11. This is the first time a dog beauty contest was held in the city. The contest started with a parade along Tran Phu Street with including Husky, Budo, Miniature Pinscher and Chihuahua breeds. Nguyen Nhu Y, head of the club, said, "The contest aims to introduce pet owners to each other, help them exchange experiences and create a festival for the dogs. The dogs are all vaccinated." In the qualification round, the dogs were able to show off their poses to the camera and on the red carpets at three different locations depending on their weight.
