In the whole of 2017, Singapore's new investment in Indonesia was valued at 8.44 billion USD. Meanwhile, Indonesia's exports of non-oil/gas commodities to Singapore stood at 9 billion USD, making that neighboring country the fifth largest destination of Indonesia’s exports of commodities other than oil and gas. Indonesia had been active in seeking to attract investors from Singapore to do business in the Kendal Industrial Estate (KIK), which is jointly developed by Indonesian and Singaporean investors in Central Java. The construction project of Da Rang and Song Chua bridges in the southern province of Phu Yen was kicked off on Friday morning at a ceremony attended by PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and representatives from the Ministry of Transport. PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, representatives from the Ministry of Transport and Phu Yen Province attend the ground breaking ceremony for the Da Rang and Song Chua bridges in Phu Yen Province on January 19 The project is expected to ease the burden on the old Ba Dang and Song Chua bridges which have just banned vehicles with 12 seats or bigger. The two bridges will be built on the National 1A in Tuy Hoa Province with two lanes for cars and motorbikes and a lane for pedestrians, having total length of 1,600 metres. The project will be carried out by the Ministry of Transport with total investment of over VND340 billion (USD14.98 million).
