What is more surprising is that even projects that are still under construction are being reconsidered for expansion or an upgrade. Such as in the case of the Hanoi Highway which has been expanded four times and still not complete. It may be that this Highway may even be further expanded. The Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh to Dau Giay Expressway was started in 2009 with an original design plan of four lanes, then soon after increased to six lanes and now being considered for eight lanes. 3,500 sqm parking lot proposed for Tan Son Nhat airport
According to Southern Airports Authority and HCMC Transport Department, the parking lot aims to ease congestion along roads leading to the airport. So far, taxi drivers of both traditional and app-based services have parked on these roads while waiting to pick up arrivals due to a lack of parking space, Nguyen Minh Tuan, the authority's deputy head, told a city meeting Thursday. The proposed parking lot will cover in excess of 3,500 square meters, a third of a FIFA football pitch, near the route leading to the airport's international terminal. The state-owned lot is currently managed by the authority. Tuan said the number of international flights arriving at Tan Son Nhat has yet to reach its highest capacity under the impacts of the ongoing Ukraine war. In the near future, when those flights are recovered, more passengers will arrive. Ba Ria-Vung Tau announces construction schedule for expressway
The expressway will connect the beach town of Vung Tau with the industrial city of Bien Hoa in Dong Nai Province. Both provinces neighbor Ho Chi Minh City. To cost VND5.19 trillion (nearly $222 million), including VND1.33 trillion for land, the section will run through Ba Ria and Phu My towns in Ba Ria-Vung Tau. Ba Ria – Vung Tau will contribute VND670 billion with the rest coming from the central government. More than 1,200 households will have to make way for it, and the construction is expected to be completed in June 2025. To cost around VND18 trillion in all, the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway will run almost 54 kilometers (33 miles) between the two highly industrialized provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau. Huge transport investment expected to vitalise central regions
For over a month now, relevant personnel at the Ministry of Transport is busy with the final preparations to soon hand over Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway to the people’s committees of Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak provinces. In light of Decision No.17/QD-TTg dated July 28, two out of three components under Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway will be assigned to two localities having the road passage for management. The 32km-long first component with an estimated investment value of $244.8 million will be assigned to Khanh Hoa's People’s Committee while the 48km-long third component valued at around $282 million will be assigned to Dak Lak's People’s Committee. (Photo: SGGP) The 411-km route will be implemented from 2022 – 2025, running through the provinces of Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, and Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City. The sub-project aims to ensure traffic safety, improve the quality of railway infrastructure and transport capacity of both passengers and goods, thus effectively exploiting the existing infrastructure along the Nha Trang – Saigon route. The budget for this will be sourced from the State budget under the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period. About VND80 billion will be allocated in 2022; and VND350 billion, VND400 billion and VND269 billion in 2023, 2024 and 2025, respectively. Businesses commit to building social housing projects for low-income earners
