Fifteen airlines are expected to operate international flights connecting numerous destinations with Da Nang from now until the end of the year, promising ample opportunities for the promotion and development of local tourism. These airlines will operate international routes from such countries as South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, and Malaysia, among others, to Da Nang with a total frequency of up to 90 flights per week, Ho Ky Minh, vice-chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, said on Monday. Michael Piro, CEO of Wink Hotels, said that after the first Wink hotel with 237 rooms opened in HCM City early last year, the second hotel is expected to open in November this year in the central Da Nang City with 243 rooms. Vietnam rescues 400 citizens tricked to work illegally in Cambodia
So far this year, authorities in Vietnam and Cambodia have worked together to verify cases in which Vietnamese people had been taken to Cambodia by human traffickers. The collaboration resulted in nearly 400 Vietnamese being rescued and brought home, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang told press Sunday. In recent times, it has been increasingly reported that many Vietnamese had been tricked to work in Cambodia. In most cases, trafficking rings advertised their services on Facebook and Zalo, a Vietnamese texting and calling app, targeting people of working age but without stable jobs, promising a career with a monthly salary of up to thousands of dollars. Speaking at a meeting to review the industry’s performance in the first half of the year and set plans for the latter half, Tran Van Hiep, Vinacas’ deputy chairman, said cashew exports in the first five months fell by 7.81 per cent in volume and 6.81 per cent in value to 206,111 tonnes and US$1.19 billion, respectively. Sam Son beaches jammed during hot weekend
Tens of thousands of visitors flocked to Sam Son beaches in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa during the weekend as the northern and central regions experienced a widespread severe heat wave. During the two days of June 25 and 26, some beaches along Ho Xuan Huong Street in Sam Son City were jammed with visitors. A beach near Truong Le Mountain also attracted many visitors. The beaches were most crowded between 3pm-6pm. A staff from the local rescue team monitored the beach on June 25. A report from the Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the city received over 6.80 million visitors during the first half of 2022, up 131.60 percent on year.
