The blood donation programme in Hung Yen province on March 14 attracted more than 700 young people (Photo: VNA) Hung Yen (VNA) – More than 700 young people in the northern province of Hung Yen took part in a blood donation programme on March 14, part of March’s Youth Month activities. The event was held at the University of Finance and Business Administration by the Hung Yen provincial Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU). It was also meant to celebrate the HCYU’s 88th founding anniversary on March 26. More than 400 blood units were collected at the programme, before being delivered to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. Vice Secretary of the provincial HCYU Committee Nguyen Tuan Phong said the programme was a chance to encourage young people to volunteer for the sake of social security and community health and to help promote blood donation. Nestle Vietnam inaugurates new distribution centre in Hung Yen province
At the inaugural ceremony (Photo: nhadautu.vn) Hung Yen (VNA) – Nestle Vietnam inaugurated its largest distribution centre in Vietnam’s northern region in Hung Yen province on March 12. The Bong Sen Centre, based at Thang Long II urban area in My Hao district, is equipped with leading technologies such as Obiter Robot and SAP, which help optimize storage while reducing workplace risks for workers. Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of Hung Yen People’s Committee Bui The Cu hailed the company for its remarkable contribution to the local budget since it started operation in the province in May 2017. African swine fever outbreaks discovered in Hung Yen, Thai Binh
Director of the Department of Animal Health Pham Van Dong (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam has detected African swine fever (ASF) outbreaks in the northern provinces of Thai Binh and Hung Yen, unveiled Director of the Department of Animal Health Pham Van Dong on February 19. Accordingly, the AFS virus was discovered in Hung Yen’s Trung Nghia commune (Hung Yen city) and Yen Hoa commune (Yen My district), with the results of samples taken from other farms surrounding the outbreak spots still pending. Meanwhile, in Thai Binh, a number of household-based pig farms in Hung Ha district’s Dong Do commune were also found to be contaminated with the disease. The results of samples taken from nearby farms were negative. Xich Dang temple of literature in Hung Yen (Source: VNA) Hung Yen (VNA) - Following the construction of Quoc Tu Giam Temple of Literature in Hanoi, which is seen as Vietnam’s first university, in 1070, many temples of literature were built across the nation. Xich Dang temple of literature in the northern province of Hung Yen is one of them. Xich Dang temple of literature in Hung Yen city is the second oldest, after Quoc Tu Giam Temple of Literature in Hanoi. The establishment of temples of literature reflected Vietnamese people’s fondness of learning. Xich Dang temple of literature was constructed in 1804. However, in 1839, the building was renovated with the current beautiful and large scale. After more than 200 years, its architecture remains intact.
