Hung Kings Worshipping Festival and Hung Kings' Temple Festival will take place from April 8th to 12th in Viet Tri City and communes surrounding Hung Kings' Temple Historical Site in Phu Tho Province, with a number of activities, announced the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee. As planned, the incense offerings to Hung Kings will be solemnly held on April 12th (the tenth day of lunar March). Custodian donates drum to Hung King Temple
A caretaker of the Chua Thuong Ngan Temple in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong donated a replica of a Dong Son bronze drum to the Hung King Temple in Prenn Falls tourist area on December 29. Cung Van Duoc, 78, bought the 1-meter-high, 100kg drum from the UNESCOCenter for Researching and Preserving Vietnamese Antiques. The Management Board of Prenn Falls said the drum will be displayed at the temple and used in special ceremonies. Earlier, two drums, one original and one reproduction which were gifted by the UNESCOCenter for Researching and Preserving Vietnamese Antiques, were stolen from the HungKingTemple on December 24. Funds raised for Hung Kings Temple
A fund to restore and preserve the Hung Kings Temple, in the northern province of Phu Tho, has been established to raise both financial and spiritual contributions. The temple complex is considered by many the ancestoral land of Vietnamese people, said Dao Trong Cuong, the fund’s president has said. Through the generosity of individuals and organisations, the fund will commision a ceramic wall painting on the occasion of Ha Noi’s 1,000th anniversary. Hung Kings Temple upgraded
At present, the construction of Ha and Gieng temples on NghiaLinhMountain has been completed, and others facilities, such as ponds, roads, parking lots, and water supply system, are near completion. Nguyen Tien Khoi added that various activities and ceremonies will be held at the Hung Kings Temple Festival 2011 from April 3rd to 14th.
