The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has set a goal to build at least 10 hectares of public parks across the metropolis in 2022, the Vietnam News Agency reported. The city will add at least 10 hectares of public parks and two hectares of green space, as well as plant and renovate 6,000 trees, this year, according to a plan recently issued by the municipal People’s Committee. Authorities in every district and Thu Duc City were tasked with making a list of land plots originally zoned for building public parks. If these land lots are currently leased for other purposes, the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment will suggest a road map to reclaim them to prepare for the park construction. Saigon was greeted with a heavy downpour at the beginning of this week. Getting to work, already a tedious task, was now chaotically worse. Motorbikes pulled themselves to the side en-masse and riders brought their raincoats out. Cars weren't much better off, either. They had to switch lanes frequently, making traffic even more complicated. Buses had no maneuvering room. As the water poured down my face, I wondered, not for the first time: was I better off on the bike or were the bus passengers the happier lot? The answer seemed obvious. They could just sit there and enjoy the rain tapping on the glass, insulated from the outside chaos. Of course, riding a bus in Vietnam is not always the most pleasant experience. HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Health announced that it has issued more than 14 million COVID-19 vaccine passports to the general public, a month from its official rollout on April 15. The passport is now available on the national COVID-19 app PC COVID-19 (available on both iOS and Android systems) or Digital Health (Sổ sức khỏe điện tử) apps. The vaccine passports have 11 fields of information: name, date of birth, nationality, the targeted disease, doses of vaccines received, date of vaccination, lot number of the vaccine batch, type of vaccine, vaccine product received, the vaccine manufacturer, and a code for the certification. Data has been encoded into a QR code. The code will expire after 12 months. Following their expiry, people will be notified, and a new QR code will be created.
