Each household received a gift set valued at VND500,000 ($21.86), which included basic commodities for Tet. The gift sets were presented to 52 poor households in Song Phan Commune, mostly inhabited by ethnic Rai, and 48 families in Son My Commune.
“After nearly 15 years of operating in Vietnam, we fully understand the importance and meaning of Tet in Vietnamese culture. With these gifts, we hope to offer a warmer and more meaningful festive period to the poor, so Tet can be celebrated in every household and no one is left behind,” said David Stone, president of AES Vietnam.
The Tet gifts are part of AES’s social impact program, which aims to improve the quality of life for local communities, focusing on four main pillars – health, education, livelihoods and infrastructure.
