On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), the VN-Index fell to 963.89 points at the beginning of the day but later gradually rebounded to 976 points in mid-day. In the afternoon, buying demand continued to dominate the session, helping VN-Index end at 983.17 points, up 13.77 points. More than 132 million shares worth some 3.74 trillion VND (165.12 million USD) were traded on the HoSE. First Chiang Mai-Da Nang flight brings 180 tourists to central region

(Photo: AirAsia) Da Nang (VNA) – Budget carrier AirAsia’s first flight connecting Thailand’s Chiang Mai province and Vietnam’s central coastal city of Da Nang landed at Da Nang International Airport on April 12, with 180 passengers on board. The daily flight takes a total of one hour and 45 minutes, departing at 8 am from Chiang Mai and 10:15 am from Da Nang city. AirAsia already has a Bangkok-Da Nang route with three flights per week, and a Da Nang-Kuala Lumpur route with two flights per week. According to Vice Director of the Da Nang Centre for Tourism Promotion Huynh Thi Huong Lan, Thailand has become one of the city’s biggest sources of tourists in recent years. Alongside, many universities have made changes in training activities to meet the requirements of the market. New academic programmes In 2019, the National Economic University (NEU) will open seven new programmes - business analysis, data science in economy and business, financial investment, finance technology, business management in smart operation, quality control and reform, and management of international hotels. The VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) lost 0.21 per cent to end Friday at 966.18 points. Nearly 219.2 million shares worth almost VND4.2 trillion (US$181.3 million) were traded on the southern market. The benchmark index had risen 0.66 per cent to end Thursday at 968.17 points. Market breadth was negative with 174 shares dropping and 146 rising. The large-cap VN30-Index lost by 0.48 per cent to stand at 880.55 points.
