Vietnam has won 188 gold medals so far at the ongoing 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, more than the total numbers of golds of second-placed Thailand, third-placed Indonesia, and fourth-placed Philippines combined. As of 3:00 pm on Sunday, the host nation had bagged 188 gold medals, 109 silvers, and 109 bronzes, according to the event's official website. Thailand ranked second with 77 golds, 92 silvers, and 125 bronzes. Indonesia and the Philippines were in third and fourth places with 62 and 47 gold medals, respectively. The first flight back to Nha Trang from Seoul on May 20 was greeted with a water cannon salute, flowers and gifts, showing Vietnam’s warm hospitality to visitors. Russia to assist Vietnam in building e-government
Russia has agreed to assist Vietnam in building an e-government as well as help the Southeast Asian country ensure information safety, a Russian deputy minister for digital development said in Hanoi on Monday. Russian Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Mikhail Mamonov is leading a delegation on a working visit to Vietnam from February 18 to 20. The guests, including Russian experts and firm representatives, had a working session with Vietnamese Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung in Hanoi on Monday.
