Dong Nai (VNA) – More than 5,300sq.m of dioxin-contaminated land in Ho Cong 2 area at Bien Hoa airport in the southern province of Dong Nai was detoxified and recovered, according to the National Steering Committee on the settlement of post-war unexploded ordnance and toxic chemical consequences in Vietnam (Steering Committee 701). The treated area met the requirements of dioxin contaminated level to Vietnamese standards, ensuring safety to people and the environment. The project to settle dioxin pollution in Bien Hoa airport was launched in December 2019. The committee reported that despite difficulties from COVID-19 pandemic, in 2020, the project dug nearly 1,200cu.m of polluted sediment for treatment in next phases. Hanoi calls on foreign firms to invest in industrial zones
Hanoi (VNA) – Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi’s Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue asked foreign hi-tech groups to consider investing in the city’s existing industrial zones, including the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, while receiving representatives from FDI enterprises operating in the high technology industry on January 19. Hue encouraged the Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation (KBC) to invest in industrial zones in Soc Son and Dong Anh districts to attract more foreign businesses. He expressed his hope that major technology groups will set up search and development (R&D) and innovation centres in Hanoi in the way the Republic of Korea’s Samsung Group has done. Binh Duong to spend 388 million USD to improve transport connectivity
HCM City (VNS/VNA) – The southern province of Binh Duong will spend around 9 trillion VND (388 million USD) on key transport projects this year to boost socio-economic development, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hoang Thao has said. In order to efficiently use the money, funds will be spent on important, key projects that can be completed and put into use this year. Specifically, the province plans to build fly-over bridges at Phuoc Kien, Cho Dinh and Cho Cay Dua junctions. The provincial construction department said the fly-overs would reduce ground level junctions with the ring road and the My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway, while boosting traffic connections among industrial parks in the province and HCM City ports.
