Delegates and owners of trawlers learnt about regulations and legal procedures for fishing areas according to laws of Vietnam and ASEAN member states. The work was expected to raise public awareness of fishing regulations, stressing the aim of ending violations in foreign waters. Reportedly, local owners of trawlers signed a document to commit to not fishing in foreign waters as well as to join hands with functional forces to conduct legal fishing in Vietnam’s waters and strictly safeguard the national sovereignty over sea and islands. They include food, beverages, handicrafts, and rural tourism services. The province recognised 44 more OCOP products last year, taking its total to 77 ranking from three or four star level under a five-star system. SEA Games 31: Muong woman brings first gold medal to Vietnamese cycling

Quynh finished her race at the cross-country event on May 16 at a time of 1:18:5, leaving her Malaysian rivals Natahsya Soon and Nuz Assyria behind. Quynh said the gold medal has significant meaning to her as this is the first time she has competed in her own hometown. The national contingent has been in the top five spots in the biennial Games, except for the 1983 edition in Singapore, where Malaysia placed sixth. With today’s meagre haul of three gold medals in pencak silat, gymnastics and athletics, Malaysia currently has 19 golds, 24 silvers and 44 bronzes, and is sixth, having dropped a spot from fifth at the start of the day. As of May 16, Vietnam obtained 197 medals, including 88 golds, topping the tally and leaving other competitors far behind. Four cyclists, Ahmad Syazrin Awang Ilah, Zulfikri Zulkifli, Nur Assyira Zainal Abidin and Natahsya Soon, crossed the finish line at a time of 1:23:14. This is the best result ever recorded by Malaysian cyclists. They won a silver medal at the SEA Games in 2011. Việt Nam ranked second with a time of 1:23.48, and Thailand came third in 1:24:54.
