Malaysia to spend 20 billion USD on subsidies in 2022
Malaysian Minister of Finance Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz (Photo: Bernama) Kuala Lumpur (VNA) - The total amount of subsidies for Malaysian people is expected to reach near 80 billion RM (nearly 20 billion USD) in 2022, according to Malaysian Minister of Finance Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz. In the 100th People’s Financial Report released on June 27, the minister said to reduce inflationary pressures on the people, the government has provided various consumption subsidies consisting of petrol, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), cooking oil, flour and electricity. The projected consumption subsidies expenditure for 2022 is the highest amount of subsidies in history ever borne by any government, he added. The Malaysian government will continue to implement policies to curb inflation in order to avoid excessive price increases, and help those in need of direct assistance. President urges actions to handle health sector’s crisis
The State leader attended a ceremony on June 28 to mark the 50th founding anniversary of Vietnam Pharmaceutical Corporation (Vinapharm), where he presented the first-class Labour Order to the corporation. River trash capture tool launched in Nam Dinh Province

Hundreds of businesses to receive support from USAID IPSC Project
On June 30, the project started to revise and select eligible and qualified businesses to receive support packages for the second intake of 2022, running from April 1 to June 30. The USAID IPSC, with a total budget of $36 million, is currently Vietnam's largest private-sector technical assistance project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project aims to support businesses to overcome the pandemic, improve their capacity in governance, technology, financial access, innovation, and market access, and promote a favourable business investment environment. USAID IPSC targets to support 5,000 small and growing businesses. USAID IPSC officially launched and opened registration on January 18. The applicants go through selection processes (the first in April, the second in July, and the third in November), to receive support packages.
