The new US-Vietnam Cooperation Center has officially come into operation after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), 69 Chua Lang Street, Hanoi. Speaking at the opening ceremony on May 25, US Ambassador Marc Evans Knapper said the center joins over 600 other American Spaces around the world, which encourage open dialogue and build bridges of understanding by serving as study centers for students and communal spaces for those interested in American culture and values. Vinhomes IZ, an industrial property arm of developer Vinhomes, has raised its charter capital from 70 billion VND (3.02 million USD) to 18.5 trillion VND over the last two years. Vietnam has outperformed major regional indices, making the market nearly quadrupled in size compared with the start of 2012 and the trading exceeding $1 billion a day. In its latest report, HSBC has stated that many funds already have Vietnam’s stock market on their radar with excitement about the country’s potential inclusion in the emerging market (EM) index.
