With the expansion of the Covid-19 pandemic, foreign embassies in Hanoi recommended expats avoid leaving Vietnam. As the Covid-19 pandemic is expanding, foreign diplomatic representations in Vietnam have updated the situation either in their websites or Facebook pages, helped their citizens carry out administrative formalities to return home and warned them not to leave the Vietnam. The Biristh embassy in Vietnam told Hanoitimes via email that the embassy highly appreciated the Vietnamese government's response to Covid-19. “The system has been quick to identify and isolate cases. The WHO has commended the response,” the embassy wrote. The embassy has advised all British citizens in Vietnam to follow and update information about Foreign and Commonwealth Office travel advice. “We are providing consular assistance to the British people affected. The denial is in line with regulations on prevention of Covid-19 which has caused 15 infections in the country. Vietnamese authorities have denied the entry of nearly 300 passengers whose time window between leaving China and entering Vietnam has been less than 14 days (the incubation period of the virus). Photo: Zing So far, Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi have refused to allow 289 passengers to enter the country following regulations on preventing Covid-19, the new name of the latest strain of coronavirus. Tan Son Nhat airport denied 286 passengers while Noi Bai refused three. Of the passengers, 218 came from Hong Kong on a flight by Cathay Pacific, the flag carrier of Hong Kong, 44 from Malaysia, 10 from Thailand, and four from Singapore. Under the pilot project, post offices are to process a number of district-level administrative procedures in Ha Long. The project aims to further improve the quality of service to the people, making it easy for them in carrying out administrative procedures, helping reduce the time for travel and minimise bureaucracy and negativity among officials and civil servants.
