Vietnam explores cooperation with Pacific Alliance Truc Diem HANOI - Vietnam and the Pacific Alliance (AP) which groups four Latin America countries are exploring the possibility and potential to push up economic cooperation given the fact that the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement can be revived. AP is a Latin American trade bloc with deep integration among member countries, namely Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. At the seminar "The Pacific Alliance and Vietnam in the Global Context" in Hanoi on May 22, Vu Quang Minh, secretary to Vietnam's Minister of Foreign Affairs, said AP is a young organization which was established six years ago, but has quickly grown and impressed many countries in the world. The statement was made at a conference on the theme of the PA and Vietnam in the global context, co-organised by the Embassies of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, which make up the four PA members, in Hanoi on May 22. The event aims to launch initiatives to assist Vietnam as coordinator in the ASEAN with the PA and strengthening cooperation between the two sides. Speaking at the event, Vu Quang Minh, Director General of the Economic Affairs Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Vietnam and four PA member states in the Asia-Pacific region, are currently regarded as the engine of global growth with the highest economic growth rate in the world.
