While fishing in waters around 12 nautical miles from the mainland in the central province’s Phu My District Thursday, the vessel owned by Nguyen Huu The found Michael Haas in trouble, waving hands in desperation. Filipino singers in Vietnam – P3: The whole singing family
Stardust and P4 are two different bands, but members of each come from a single family with a 21 year legacy of performing in Vietnam At the recommendation of several Filipino singers, Tuoi Tre correspondents traveled to the south-central coastal town of Mui Ne to see Stardust, a band which has been performing at a local resort for the past 10 years, perform. Six nights a week, Louell Yamba and his family band entertain guests at Pandanus resort with a set list comprised of western hits and well-known classics. Louell plays guitar, drums, cajón, and saxophone while his wife Lolita, sister-in-law Zeny, and son Richard all sing. The youngest member of the family, Ronaldo who marries a Vietnamese wife, plays keyboard and sings backup. Ho Chi Minh City jazz nights to promote Vietnam-Russia cultural exchange
Two jazz nights featuring famed Russian guitarist Dmitry Maloletov and renowned Vietnamese saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, with the first event scheduled for this weekend. As part of a series to celebrate the upcoming 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Russia (1950-2020), the events aim to show the unity of Russians and Vietnamese through music as well as promote cultural exchanges between the two peoples. The shows will take place at Sax n Art Jazz Club in District 1 on Sunday evening, and at Van Lang University’s Campus 3 in Binh Thanh District on December 12, respectively, said the Russian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
