Belarus always considers Vietnam, a nation with influence in Southeast Asia, as a strategic partner and wants to foster cooperative ties with Vietnam, said Belarus Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovik. Vietnam and Slovakia declared the succession of relations established by Vietnam and former Czechoslovakia and took February 2, 1950 as the date of diplomatic relations establishment. The relationship between Vietnam and Slovakia has been positively developed since 1993 and both sides have highly respected their traditional friendship ties. According to statistics, the economic ties between Vietnam and Slovakia are still below expectations due to limited potential and demands from both sides. Authorities and residents in southwest Tay Ninh province continually treasure the traditional friendship and solidarity with the neighbouring Cambodian province of Preyveng, said Secretary of the Tay Ninh Party’s Committee Vo Van Phuong. During a reception on April 22 in Tay Ninh for his Cambodian counterpart So Bon Sa Rat and his delegation, Phuong expressed his hope that the two provinces would expand their cooperation across all fields. Tay Ninh has seen an annual average 10.5 percent growth in GDP over the past five years, recording 42.2 trillion VND (2 billion USD) in 2014 with an annual income per capita of 2,360 USD, according to Phuong.
