Hanoi (VNA) - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and Pacific Airlines, two carriers under the Vietnam Airlines Group, have announced adjustments to flights to and from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport on January 21 due to unfavourable weather conditions. Two flights from Ho Chi Minh City, VN248 and VN7246, will land at Cat Bi Airport in the northern port city of Hai Phong. Two others from HCM City, VN7206 and VN320, are to be diverted to the central city of Da Nang, while another from Buon Ma Thuot is to land at Tho Xuan Airport in central Thanh Hoa province. Phu Quoc airport stops broadcasting flight information on radio from January 20
In order to avoid delay and missed flights, the national flag carrier-Vietnam Airlines will deploy new notification methods at the airport to help passengers conveniently follow and update flight information. In addition, airport staffs at the check-in counters will notify passengers about the cancellation of radio broadcasting notification. Additional 13 large signals about the cancellation have been installed at check-in counters, security checkpoints, waiting rooms and exits so that passengers could easily, actively find out and update information on flight information screens. Previously, international airports of Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang and Cam Ranh had changed to the new notification form, aiming to minimize the noise at the terminals. Hanoi (VNA) – Japan's Nikkei newspaper has run a story highlighting the opportunity for Vietnam to rise stronger after the COVID-19 pandemic is completely controlled. It spotlighted Vietnam's efforts in maintaining economic activities amid the pandemic, which made the country one of the Asian economies recording the highest growth in 2020. The article noted that in 2020, Vietnam signed three free trade agreements (FTA), and saw the introduction of another airline, while rising to the sixth position in Southeast Asia in terms of per capita income. Two more imported Covid-19 patients confirmred on Thursday
According to the ministry's report, the two men aged 54 and 66 returned from the US and transited in South Korea before landing at Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa Province on January 1. They were sent to a quarantine area upon arrival in Phu Yen Province and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on January 20. The patients are now being treated at the Phu Yen Provincial General Hospital. Earlier, 16 other people who boarded the same flight with them had also been infected with the virus. With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 852. As of 6 pm on January 21, a total of 1,411 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.
