It is the first time that a fashion week has been dedicated to the form, described by organisers as a blend of haute couture and ready-to-wear or pret-a-porter. "In Milan, we celebrate high-end ready-to-wear. In Paris, we celebrate high-end haute couture," said Jacob Abrian, the head of the Dubai-based Arab Fashion Council (AFC). The Permanent Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment, Wichan Simachaya, said the United Nations (UN) designated June 5th as World Environment Day in 1974 to promote people's relationship with nature. Efforts have been made to raise awareness about the impact of pollution on the environment and what can be done to improve the situation. This year, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) will be signed among government agencies to reduce their use of plastic bags and Styrofoam in their offices. Japanese film festival kicks off in Hà Nội
Musical film Dance With Me is a highlight at the Japanese Film Festival in Hà Nội from December 6 to 22. The films including comedy, drama, horror, musical, action and animation have been screened from December 6 to 22. Comedy My Dad is A Heel Wrestler will be screened at the festival opening ceremony. It is about story of a wrestler who was famous and popular but was forced to retire after a major knee injury. Musical film Dance With Me will be a highlight of the festival.
