Online quiz on Vietnam-Laos ties continues to attract participants after eight weeks

Doan Van Nam from Cai Be High School in Cai Be district, the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang, won first prize for the week. Le Thi Hong Van from Nghia Dan district, and Nguyen Nhu Thuy from Thanh Chuong district, the central province of Nghe An, shared the second prize. The contest forms part of activities to mark the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022 on the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties (September 5, 1962 – 2022), and 45 years since the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 – 2022). At the conference In November 2020, leaders of the People’s Committees of seven localities signed an agreement on tourism development cooperation. The program will focus on state management of the tourism industry, the development of tourism human resources and tourist products, and tourism promotion. According to a report, seven cities and provinces received a total number of visitors of 17.7 million and earned VND63, 000 billion (US$2.7 billion) in tourism revenue in 2021. In the first six months of this year, the business outcome of tourism activities saw positive signs thanks to tourism reopening policies. The total number of tourists was estimated at around 32.9 million, including one million international visitors while the revenue from tourism was VND87, 900 (US$3.76 billion). (Photo: tuoitre.vn) Quang Ngai (VNA) – Revenue from travel among Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City and the five Central Key Economic Zone city and provinces exceeded 63.07 trillion VND (over 2.69 billion USD), heard at a conference on August 8. The conference was held in the district of Tu Nghia, the south-central province of Quang Ngai, to review the two-year cooperation for tourism development among the two metropolises and the central localities of Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh. The review was expected to lay ground for the continued implementation of initiatives to boost intra-bloc partnership in tourism development post-pandemic. Laws need amending for real estate projects

The obstacles are related to many legal regulations, such as the Law on Housing 2014, Law on Real Estate Business 2014, Law on Land 2013, and Law on Construction 2014. Although the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has directed relevant departments, branches, districts, as well as Thu Duc City authorities to coordinate and consider proposals to resolve many pending issues, it seems that it is still very difficult to follow up on projects without amending the Laws. Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway project restarts in third quarter
According to the Ministry of Transport, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway construction project is invested by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC). The project has a total length of 57.8 kilometers, passing through Long An, Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai provinces. The project's total investment is VND31.32 trillion, using loans from the Asian Development Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and domestic reciprocal funds. According to the original plan, the project would be carried out from 2014 to 2019. However, during the implementation process, some mechanism and policy changes caused the project not to be allocated capital and have to halt construction from 2019. The Ministry of Transport had reported to the Government many times and regularly worked with relevant agencies, such as the State Capital Management Committee, JICA, and State Audit of Vietnam, to solve the project's problems.
