PM orders preservation of Xa Tac Offering Platform
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. The Prime Minister has issued an instruction on preserving the relics of Xa Tac Offering Platform, which was discovered in November last year thanks to a project to build the Kim Lien-O Cho Dua belt roads of Ha Noi. The Offering Platform was where Vietnamese Kings used to annually honor the God of Earth and the God of Farm, the two gods of wet rice civilisation. Based on the historical records of Xa Tac Offering Platform, the Prime Minister held that the invaluable platform should be conserved for its historical connection with the Thang Long ancient citadel. Accordingly, he asked the municipal authorities and related agencies to coordinate in exploring the site as well as conducting archaeological research and making a plan to preserve it, the relic that he believed to be of national historical significance.
