Swimmers, taekwondo artists bring home golds

Photo dantri.vn HÀ NỘI — Swimming and taekwondo athletes brought two gold medals each for Việt Nam on the seventh day of the 30th Southest Asian Games on Saturday in the Philippines. Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên won both the women's 400m freestyle and 100m backstroke events, defending her titles comfortably. The 23-year-old clocked 4min 13.20sec in the 400m freestyle. Gan Ching Hwee of Singapore and Natthanan Junkrajang from Thailand were second and third, respectively. In the latter race, Viên finished with a time of 1:02.97. Chloe Kennedy Anne Isleta and Jasmine Alkhaldi, both of the hosts, were the runners-up. Viên who is expected to win eight titles in this Games will take part in the 400m individual medley today. She is the defending champion. Workshop marks GDP’s contributions to the military’s development

Present at the event were former Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu; General Ngo Xuan Lich, Defense Minister; General Phung Quang Thanh, former Defense Minister; General Luong Cuong, Chief of the GDP; and Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the VPA’s General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister; among others. Delegates at the seminar On December 22, 1944, at Tran Hung Dao forest in Hoang Hoa Tham commune, Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang province (now Tam Kim commune, Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang province), the Armed Propaganda and Liberation Team of Vietnam – the VPA’s predecessor – was officially founded and operated under the leadership of a Party cell. International integration contributes to national defense and security

This conference aims to comprehensively assess the results attained by the Government in implementing the 11th Politburo’s Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW dated April 10, 2013 on international integration, and the 12th Party Central Committee’s Resolution No. 06-NQ/TW dated November 5, 2016  on effectively implementing the process of international integration and maintaining socio-political stability in the context of Vietnam’s participation in new-generation free trade agreements,” with a focus on the period of 2014-2019. The conference will also draw lessons and propose appropriate measures to strengthen international integration in the coming time. Vietnam’s traditional crafts promoted as national image

Bat Trang village’s ceramic products Vietnam has some 5,400 craft villages, spanning many different crafts, such as lacquer, ceramics, gold, silver, embroidery, bamboo, rattan, weaving, paper, folk paintings, wood, and stone. Their handicraft products are diverse in design and quality. Van Phuc silk, Bat Trang pottery, and Dong Xam silver carving have been recognized as national brands. Dam Tien Thang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, said that despite their economic value, the potential of traditional craft villages hasn’t been fully tapped. He said “Hanoi craft villages’ annual production is estimated to be nearly 1 billion USD and annual export turnover is approximately 200 million USD a year. So far this year Hanoi has earned about 160 million USD.” No agency or organization is responsible for buying all the products made by traditional craft villages.
