Vietnam, China negotiate phytosanitary requirements for fruit exports
Vietnam has not yet signed the protocols on phytosanitary requirements for eight export fruits, including bananas. Currently, Vietnam has 11 kinds of fruits that are exported via official channels to China. Global wheat consumption is headed for its biggest annual decline in decades as record inflation forces consumers and companies to use less and replace the grain with cheaper alternatives, amid growing food insecurity. Hanoi second metro depot unfinished after 9 years
The depot area in Bac Tu Liem District, spanning 15 ha, has structures like operation centers and facilities for train storage, maintenance and electric works. Construction work on various facilities in the depot began in January 2013. It was supposed to be completed in 2018, but has been postponed until the end of this year. The administrative area is still under construction. It is said that construction of the depot is 77 percent complete. Le Tran Tuan, operations director of the Depot CP05 bidding package being implemented by the Hanoi Construction Corporation (Hancorp), said the most important factor in the delay was money. The package was supposed to cost around VND600 billion ($25.67 million), but this estimate has since ballooned to VND950 billion ($40.65 million). Vietnamese-Australian debuts in new K-pop girl group NewJeans
The group was launched in late July by All Doors One Room (Ador), a label under the HYBE group that represents K-pop titans BTS. Hanni, Korean-Australian singer Danielle, and three remaining Korean members - Minji, Haerin and Hyein - make up the group of five. Their ages range from 14 to 18 years old. VND remains most stable currency in region: Report
With the internal strength of the currency and the central bank's flexible management, the VND is expected to depreciate by a maximum of 3% in 2022. Vietnam’s manufacturing output continues an upward trend in July
Manufacturers remained optimistic that production will increase in the next 12 months. The S&P Global Vietnam Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) remained above the 50.0 no-change mark for the tenth successive month at 51.2 in July, signaling a further strengthening of business conditions. A reading below the 50 neutral marks indicates no change from the previous month, while a reading below 50 indicates contractions, and above 50 points means an expansion, according to S&P Global. New orders increased for the tenth month running, but the rate of expansion eased to the weakest since April. New export business rose solidly, meanwhile, and at a faster pace than total new orders.
