Vietnam’s economic recovery gaining momentum
Vietnam continues to benefit from its broad re-opening strategy, which saw a huge crowd flocking to tourist hotspots in the country and household spending rebound. As the high school entrance and graduation exams are starting in a few weeks, final-year students at middle and high schools are as busy as a bee at back-to-back extra classes. Some students leave their extra classes and return home at 9:30 pm every day. Like her fellow students, N., a ninth grader of Tang Nhon Phu B Middle School in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, is in crunch time. She has a very busy studying schedule. After school, she has to attend after-hours classes at a cultural fostering center and an English center. Additionally, she takes private lessons in literature and math. Her daily extra classes often end at 9:00 pm. She confessed that she felt under pressure but she had to try to get into a good high school. City authorities are also encouraging consumers to buy products with clear labels on origin. The board, the city Department of Industry and Trade, and supermarkets and convenience stores have been instructed to keep strict control over food quality. Pham Khanh Phong Lan, head of the board, said food production, processing, distribution, and import-export establishments would be closely monitored. Young people invent anti-cheating software for online exams

However, cheating on online exams has caused headaches for schools. To help schools prevent and discover cheating, a group of young alumni of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology invented a piece of software which can detect cheating in up to 80 per cent of cases. Hoàng Mậu Trung, Nguyễn Thị Thanh Tâm and Nguyễn Văn Nam, all aged 24, built an online exam system named EduExam, using artificial intelligence technology. According to Trung, the project leader, the EduExam online exam system can be used for all levels of education, from primary school to university, for multiple-choice to essay tests.
