Dantri/DTiNews readers have donated VND100m to a little girl in Quang Ninh Province who might have lost one eye to glaucoma. One-year-old Tran Thuy Chi has glaucoma The representatives of Dantri and the authorities in Bac Nghia Ward, Dong Hoi City, visited and transferred VND107,740,000 (USD4,600) to one-year-old Tran Thuy Chi. Chi is the second child of Tran Ngoc Lam and Tran Thi Thuy Linh. She was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma and has gone through several operations. She already had an operation just 15 days after being born. In order to save Chi, her parents have sold their house for VND260m (USD11,100) and borrowed VND150m to go to Singapore. The treatment on Chi's left eye was not successful but her right eye has improved. They have placed their hope on the next operation. In the past years, Dantri/DTiNews has helped build bridges and classrooms for disadvantaged people in northern provinces. 1. Dantri bridge in Bac Quang District, Ha Giang Province. Dantri bridge in Bac Quang District, Ha Giang Province The VND500m (USD21,600) bridge was built with help from TH Group and For Vietnamese Stature Foundation. The bridge is 22 metres long and was opened to traffic on December 27, 2018. Nguyen Ba Tuan, party secretary of Huu San Commune, said the bridge helped local people travel more easily, boosted the commune. 2. New classrooms in Quang Ba District, Ha Giang Province. Classrooms built for Na Quang school site The new classrooms were built for Na Quang school site, under Bac Dai Son Primary School, and Bat Dai Son Nursery School. Representatives from Japan's Shinnyo-en Foundation visited Dantri/DTiNews' office in Hanoi on November 27 to mark the tenth anniversary of co-operation on social and charity activities. Ota Ichiro, director of Shinnyo-en Organisation’s social activity board (fourth from the right) attends the opening ceremony of two classrooms built from their donation in Thanh Hoa Province on November 28 Ota Ichiro, director of Shinnyo-en Organisation’s social activity board, led the delegation to visit Dantri.
