Ba Ria-Vung Tau announces construction schedule for expressway
The expressway will connect the beach town of Vung Tau with the industrial city of Bien Hoa in Dong Nai Province. Both provinces neighbor Ho Chi Minh City. To cost VND5.19 trillion (nearly $222 million), including VND1.33 trillion for land, the section will run through Ba Ria and Phu My towns in Ba Ria-Vung Tau. Ba Ria – Vung Tau will contribute VND670 billion with the rest coming from the central government. More than 1,200 households will have to make way for it, and the construction is expected to be completed in June 2025. To cost around VND18 trillion in all, the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway will run almost 54 kilometers (33 miles) between the two highly industrialized provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau. HCMC’s Transport Department asked to accelerate Ring Road No.4 project
Map of three Ring Roads The Ring Road No.4 project has a length of about 200 kilometers, connecting HCMC with neighboring provinces of Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An, and Vung Tau. It runs from Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway in Phu My Town in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province to Hiep Phuoc Port in HCMC. The section passing through HCMC is 17 kilometers; Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province is 18 kilometers, Dong Nai Province is 45 kilometers, Binh Duong is 49 kilometers and Long An is 71 kilometers. The Prime Minister previously asked HCMC and the provinces of Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An and Ba Ria-Vung Tau to implement the works of the sections running through every locality. Work on Long Thanh airport’s terminal to start in October

The ACV said that the piling work for the passenger terminal, the most important work of the Long Thanh Airport project, is completed one month ahead of the schedule, and more than 14 million cu.m of soil has been dug, filled and leveled. HCMC to start test run of Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line in early 2024
The municipal Department of Construction has recently provided the public with detail information about the progress of several key projects in the city as of late July. Nearly 90% of the work of the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line have been completed, it said, adding contractors are also striving to complete construction at the end of 2023, or the beginning of 2024. Post-pandemic staff headaches continuing for local hospitals
According to Nguyen Thi Le Thu, director of Marketing and Business Development at FV Hospital, the hospital is going to build a new facility to meet the growing need for high-quality healthcare services in Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring areas. “We plan to recruit more doctors and nurses to work at the new facility,” she told VIR. “FV is an ideal working environment that many health workers are looking for.” Many healthcare staff have switched jobs due to pandemic stress and low salaries, Le Toan The French-funded hospital now boasts over 130 doctors from many countries, including 116 full-time. Constant re-planning of transport projects in Vietnam

In a pattern that seems to have prevailed for years, a transport project is usually put into operation soon after its inauguration, but then within a short time there is a need for its expansion or upgrade. What is more surprising is that even projects that are still under construction are being reconsidered for expansion or an upgrade. Such as in the case of the Hanoi Highway which has been expanded four times and still not complete. It may be that this Highway may even be further expanded. The Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh to Dau Giay Expressway was started in 2009 with an original design plan of four lanes, then soon after increased to six lanes and now being considered for eight lanes. For all we know it may also be extended to twelve lanes soon.
