ASEAN flag raising ceremony held in Hanoi
The ceremony is solemnly held annually in all member states on the occasion of the bloc anniversary, which falls on August 8. A flag-raising ceremony was held on August 8 in Hanoi to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in downtown Hanoi, the ceremony was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Vietnamese high-ranking officials, and representatives of ASEAN member states and the bloc’s partner countries. Gifts presented to AO victims in Bac Lieu

On the occasion, the provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to individuals who had made remarkable contribution to joint efforts to ease AO pain. Thousands flock to boat race festival in central Vietnam
About 10,000 people participated in a boat racing festival held on the section of the Thu Bon River in the Thanh Ha pottery village of Hoi An City in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam on Sunday. Thousands of spectators on both sides of the Thu Bon River began cheering loudly early on Sunday morning as 10 teams from Quang Nam Province and neighboring Da Nang competed to win the Thanh Ha village traditional boat racing festival.
