Electronic documentation system fundamental to digital economy

A survey conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2021 revealed that at least 33% of the surveyed businesses use e-contracts in their commercial activities. The application not only helps firms and their customers be more efficient, but also contributes to reducing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the gap in commercial transactions. The Bkav DX Platform has hosted e-contracts for more than 3 years. As a result, it helped companies save 70% of printing and delivery costs annually and shortened the process of providing products to customers by 50%. Emirates adds more flights from Viet Nam

Emirates is now increasing its frequency daily from Ha Noi and six times weekly from HCM City to Dubai and beyond. — Photo courtesy of Emirates Travellers from Viet Nam headed to Europe and the US this summer can enjoy more connectivity, flexibility and choices as Emirates is adding more frequency from both Ha Noi (HAN) and HCM City (SGN) starting from June 24, 2022. Since Viet Nam reopened its border for foreign tourists in March 2022, Emirates has gradually increased the weekly frequency on both routes from HCM City and Ha Noi, offering travellers from Viet Nam more convenience as well as a safe and seamless connection to Dubai and onward to Emirates’ global network of over 130 destinations. Starting from June 24, Emirates will boost its frequency from Ha Noi to daily flights. Cashew exports down due to rising oil prices, epidemics, Russia Ukraine conflict

At the meeting According to general statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first five months of 2022, approximately 206,110 tons of cashew kernels of all kinds were exported earning over US$1.19 billion in export turnover, down 7.81 percent in volume and 6.81 percent in value. However, the average export price was about $5,792 a ton, up 1.45 percent from the same period last year. Regarding imports in the first five months, enterprises imported about 968,000 tons of raw cashew nuts from abroad with a value of nearly $1.4 billion, down 35.24 percent in volume and down 37.84 percent in value over the same period in 2021. However, prices of imports from Africa increased by 15 percent-20 percent since the beginning of the season. More importantly, importers are tending to be slow to purchase raw materials due to many reasons but the most common is the price difference between imported raw cashew nuts and export kernel prices. Vietnamese cashew industry sees trade deficit for the first time

The US, China, and the EU remain the three largest markets for Vietnamese cashew, accounting for 26.8 percent, 17.7 percent, and 20.5 percent of the total export value of the cashew industry of Vietnam, respectively. Cashew nut exports to the US market declined by 10.1 percent in volume and 30.5 percent in value over the same period last year. Cashew nut exports to the EU market surged by 14 percent in volume but dropped by 21.2 percent in value. Cashew nut exports to China jumped by 136.4 percent in volume and 140.2 percent in value. Meanwhile, Vietnamese cashew processing enterprises imported 480,000 tons of raw cashew in April, spending up to $772 million, a sharp increase of 375 percent in volume and 470.5 percent in value compared to that in April last year. Airfares surge as domestic and int’l travel rebounds, fuel prices skyrocket

As more Vietnamese are seeking air travel services this summer, air ticket prices have increased as airlines are grappling with surging fuel costs and staffing challenges. Prices for flight tickets on many domestic routes operated by Vietnam’s five major carriers went up 20-40 percent for the last week of June compared to two months ago, according to an analysis by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper. Airfares for international flights to and from Vietnam also soared 20-35 percent compared to pre-pandemic rates, according to a representative of Transportation Services Company (Worldtrans), a Vietnamese air charter provider. Dang Anh Tuan - head of communications of Vietnam Airlines, Vu Duc Bien - general director of Vietravel Airlines and other airline representatives all blamed rising fuel prices for the airfare spike.
