Total state budget revenue in HCM City reached VND347.98 trillion (US$15.32 billion) in 2017, slightly more than the year’s target, and up 13.5 per cent compared to 2016, according to the city’s State Treasury. The city expects to collect VND376.78 trillion ($16.59 billion) worth of state budget revenue in 2018, the agency said. Speaking at a meeting held on January 12 in HCM City, Vu Hoai Nam, director of the State Treasury of HCM City, said the city had the largest state budget revenues in 2017 of all cities and provinces. Last year, the city was assigned to collect state budget revenue worth VND347.882 trillion, up 27.5 per cent compared to 2016. Vietnam Reports State Budget Revenues of VND43.285T in Jul Vietnam’s state budget revenues were estimated at VND43.285 trillion in July, up VND6.1 trillion from June, according to the Ministry of Finance. Tax revenues by cement, petroleum, paper and beer producers were almost up 14% last month amid positive economic growth, supported by a series of the government’s measures to curb inflation and stabilize the macro economy. By end-July, 40 of 63 cities and provinces nationwide had completed 60% of their full-year estimates on tax revenues. Hanoi Times - The total state budget revenue in the first six months of 2008 reached an estimated 56.6 percent of the yearly target, an increase of 10.5 percent year on year, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI). Of this, domestic revenue managed by the tax sector accounted for 52.9 percent. Figures released by the MPI showed that the total state budget revenue in the first 15 days of June 2008 reached an estimated 17 trillion VND. The total from the beginning of the year to first half of June reached 182.7 trillion VND, 56.6 percent of the year’s estimate. A total of VND1,087 trillion ($50.2 billion) was spent last year, of which more than 67.3 percent on the state apparatus, including administrative systems and national defense, Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung said. About 11 percent of the expenditure was for debts payments, and the rest for developmental projects, according to the ministry's report. Many Budget Revenue Items Reach Targets The Ministry of Finance said balanced State budget revenue reached VND777 trillion in the year to the end of October, equalling 85.3 percent of the full-year estimation and rising 6.3 percent from the same period of 2014. In October, domestic collections rose 78.6 percent from the previous month to VND75 trillion as taxpayers settled their obligations ahead of deadline. Thus, the cumulative domestic revenue grossed VND578.2 trillion in the first 10 months of 2015, equal to 90.5 percent of full-year estimation. Many revenue items exceeded estimates, including environmental protection tax (158.3 percent of estimation), agricultural land-use tax (133.3 percent), housing tax (128.9 percent), and registration fee (115.6 percent).
