VietinBank was the most valuable brand in the banking sector, with a brand value of $197 million, followed by BIDV with $176 million, Vietcombank $157 million, Sacombank $99 million, and Techcombank $99 million. This is the first time Brand Finance has compiled a Vietnam Top 50 Brands list. Value is based on criteria such as the ability to add value to products, the level of influence of the brand on customers, the cost to build the brand successfully, the brand’s value in the stock market, and the ability to create profits. Hoan My takes venture funds to build new medical facilities By Dinh Dung - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC - Hoan My Medical Corporation has just cut deals with two investment funds of VinaCapital and DWS Vietnam Fund, which will invest US$20 million to enable the clinic chain to further expand its medical facilities in the coming years, the company said. The two funds will invest US$10 million each in Hoan My, which the medical service provider described at a press briefing on Tuesday as vital for it to realize its expansion scheme. The Hanoitimes - The salubrious Trang Tien in Hanoi is a wonderful promenade and one of the capital’s most fascinating streets in terms of architecture. The Old Quarter of Hanoi is also sometimes referred to in Vietnamese as “36 streets” and local Hanoians often refer to Trang Tien as the 37th street. However, compared to the skinny and congested streets of the Old Quarter, Trang Tien is much wider and opulent thoroughfare replete with colonial buildings. Its history is obviously tied to France’s colonial administration. But it existed before the French arrived. The original name of the street was Truong Tien in reference to the state mint which was established in 1808 under the Nguyen dynasty.
