The film has a series of great scenes flattering viewers and making a strong visual impression. In particular, the scene at Dinh Vu port in the Northern City of Hai Phong over an area of 20,000 meters square with more than tens of thousands of containers is the highlight. The film crew also mobilized 57 container trucks and seven 25m-high light cars to meet the light for big action scenes. For the rain scenes, many complex rain systems were mobilized, each day the crew had to use up to 20,000-30,000 liters of water. Director of photography Morgan Schmidt admitted that Dinh Vu Port was the most difficult scene in the film. Vietnam has outperformed major regional indices, making the market nearly quadrupled in size compared with the start of 2012 and the trading exceeding $1 billion a day. In its latest report, HSBC has stated that many funds already have Vietnam’s stock market on their radar with excitement about the country’s potential inclusion in the emerging market (EM) index. Vietnam's stock market expected a bright future. Photo: The Hanoi Times If the inclusion weight for Vietnam in EM Asia is 2%, inflows would be US$8-9 billion. That is 1.4x the current allocation by foreign funds and close to eight days of trading, HSBC noted in its latest study. The FTSE added Vietnam to a watch list in September 2018 for possible reclassification to secondary EM status, due in September 2022. The market is yet to make it onto MSCI’s watch list, but if required reforms are implemented, it might meet the necessary criteria ahead of May 2023, it added. Wuhan doctor recounts fears and hope at COVID-19 frontline

March 5, 2020 by vir.com.vn Leave a Comment

Hastily converted from sports stadiums, schools and cultural venues, Wuhan's 16 makeshift "ark" hospitals were designed to ease the burden on the city's overstretched healthcare system. (Photo: AFP/STR) When 43-year-old Ma was first summoned to a sports stadium converted into a medical facility on Feb 4, it was a virtual construction site with electrical wiring and beds still being installed. Separated from his wife and young child who had returned to eastern Shandong province for Chinese New Year, Ma said he felt "scared and anxious" when the call from the jury-rigged Wuchang hospital came in the middle of the night. But the situation has slowly improved, with the number of patients receiving treatment in the improvised hospital declining from a high of 760 in mid-February to 320 earlier this week. "We had 30-40 patients being discharged per day, but the number of patients admitted was only a dozen or so. This was when the whole situation changed for us," Ma, who is the … [Read more...] about Wuhan doctor recounts fears and hope at COVID-19 frontline

Navigating supply chain operations in the new normal

May 24, 2022 by vir.com.vn Leave a Comment

Peter Nguyen, co-founder of thuocsi.vn Thuocsi.vn is a B2B platform for healthcare and pharmacy, supplying different types of healthcare and pharmaceutical products in Vietnam. During the pandemic, we experienced supply chain disruptions both at home and abroad. The company had to temporarily close if there was just one infection. Indeed, several distributors and suppliers of important drugs for Vietnamese customers have encountered a lot of disruptions. Fortunately, we have set up our own warehouses in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to respond quickly to the situation. When the cities were locked down, we still managed to transport products from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi in one night. Our plan is to find some more warehouses in the southern area. In particular, we will develop smaller distribution centres in close proximity to customers. This will help streamline our operation as well as reduce the delivery time to only 1-2 days.
