VietNamNet Bridge – An aircraft of the private carrier VietJet Air that was on the runway had to return to its parking site because of a female passenger’s disruptive behavior. This is the first case of its kind reported in Vietnam so far. On flight VJ8901 from HCM City to Bangkok on May 6, 28-year-old Ngoc Quy was forced to leave the plane for her aggressive actions. According to VietJet Air, the woman had carried excessive baggage and was informed of this by the ground staff at the airport ticket counter. However, she did not cooperate and verbally abused the airline employees. After boarding, the passenger put her personal luggage in the wrong place. Flight attendants reminded her of this but the woman continued to display a hostile attitude and caused disorder on the plane. JPA racked up losses from 2008 to 2014, chief executive officer Le Hong Ha told the briefing held to announce cooperation between JPA and Vietnam Airlines in the Lotusmiles program. Vietway launches excess baggage service By Mong Binh - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC - The travel and air services company Vietway has brought out a new service for the transport and delivery of luggage weighing more than the limit that passengers are allowed on flights from Vietnam. Nguyen Ngoc Tu, managing director of Vietway Co. Ltd., told the Daily on Monday that the service helped customers save 50%-70% of the fees they had to pay for the excess baggage if they wanted to bring it with them on the flights they boarded. Tu said Vietway charged US$15 a kilo for each piece of luggage weighing from 15 kilograms to 40 kilograms and US$10 a kilo for each piece weighing over 40 kilograms to be transported by air to Europe. “The charge varies based on the weight of the luggage that customers want to send,” Tu said. Vietnam mission for Bahraini school team
The 47 students and six supervisors are taking part in the school's third annual Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) trip. They will be leaving for Vietnam tonight and return on December 21. The students, aged 14 to 18, will be renovating a special needs school in Hanoi and a friendship village school in Sapa. They will also be distributing new clothes, toys and stationery to the two schools and the villages they will visit. The items were collected over the last two weeks under the "Fill a Bag with Love" campaign. School university adviser and overseas trip co-ordinator Hamza Mahoney said that the administration and the students had organised everything for the trip and had raised money to cover travel expenses, materials and equipment for the playground and classrooms.
