Thailand is also Vietnam’s biggest trade partner in ASEAN, with two-way trade reaching 18.8 billion USD last year, up 18% year-on-year, she said, noting that the two sides are striving to raise the value to 25 billion USD by 2025. However, Vietnamese investments in Thailand still remain modest, with only 17 projects worth 32.8 million USD. Vietnam also runs a trade deficit of more than 6 billion USD with Thailand. The website said the Thai government has approved expediting negotiations to open a bus route connecting three countries via route R12 from Nakhon Phanom, Thailand to Thakhek, Laos and on to the central province of Hà Tĩnh in Việt Nam. The distance from Nakhon Phanom to Hà Tĩnh is about 300km. The Thai Ministry of Transport says it is doing what it can to expedite the route-opening process, including asking that Laos host the second Trilateral Working Group Meeting as soon as possible in order to discuss the service model and make formal agreements. USAID IPSC Project connects Vietnamese enterprises with e-commerce giants
From May 24 to June 30, the Vietnam Private Sector Competitiveness Enhancement Project (USAID IPSC), has organised a 5-week training course called “E-commerce – a must in Industry 4.0”, as part of its cross-cutting market expansion support package for Vietnamese businesses. At the end of the course, participants attended the event “Connecting business with domestic and international e-commerce platforms” to learn from successful, real-world experiences from e-commerce platforms including Amazon Global Selling and Shopee. According to Nguyen Thi To Uyen, head of the building business management capacity at USAID IPSC, the project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), with the support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment as the government partner.
