Three Russian Navy ships complete Vietnam tour
Destroyer Marshal Shaposhnikov, corvette Gremyashchy and oil tanker Pechenga led by Colonel Alexey Anciferov had docked at the strategic naval base at Cam Ranh Bay in Khanh Hoa from June 25 to 28. Hanoi welcomes over 8.6 million visitors in first half of 2022
The result comes from the fact that Hanoi authorities made good use of opportunities such as the 31st Southeast Asian Games. Hanoi’s tourism sector welcomed 8.61 million visitors in the first six months of 2022, an increase of nearly three times year-on-year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism. The arrival number is estimated to hit 211 thousand while that of domestic tourists is around 8.4 million visitors. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at VND25.2 trillion (around US$1 billion), up more than three times compared to the same period in 2021. The average room occupancy in hotels rated with stars is estimated at more than 30%, an increase of 6.11% year on year. In June alone, room occupancy is around 42.9%, down 2.3% compared to May but up 17.2% over the same period in 2021. 5 Vietnamese killed in Jordan port chlorine gas blast
According to the Vietnamese embassy in Saudi Arabia, the Vietnamese victims were crew members aboard the Forest 6 registered in Hong Kong on which a tanker containing toxic chlorine gas accidentally exploded. It also left more than 250 people injured, including seven Vietnamese. Some 100 of them were still in hospital Wednesday, AFP quoted local officials as saying. Most were being treated for the effects of breathing chlorine, a common cleaning agent that can be employed as a chemical weapon, it said.
