Chau is accompanying Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue on his official visit to Laos from May 15 – 17. Affirming the growing bilateral relations, the officials agreed to focus their attention on organizing activities marking the two countries’ Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022, the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic ties, and the 45th year of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation. The two are scheduled to visit each other’s country this year. Vietnam and Laos also plan to hold a conference on building a shared border of peace and friendship in 2022. Previously, Chau met leaders of the associations of the Vietnamese people in Laos and Thailand and the Vietnamese business association in Laos to get to know their wishes and opinions after being severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic over the last two years. Party leader hosts Greek President in Hanoi
The Vietnamese Party leader congratulated Sakellaropoulou on becoming the first female president of Greece, and thanked the Greek people for their valuable support for Vietnam’s struggle for independence in the past as well as the current national construction, especially in COVID-19 prevention and control. He highly valued the outcomes of the Greek leader’s visit, especially the results of the talks between President Sakellaropoulou and her Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc. He expressed his belief that the visit is a milestone in the development of bilateral ties. N.A. Committees for Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Laos strengthen cooperation
The N.A. Committees for Foreign Affairs have closely partnered together both bilaterally and multilaterally under their jurisdiction, the officials said. The Vietnam-Laos relations have become more practical, notably with a workshop presided over by the N.A. Chairmen which shared experience in policy mechanisms for socio-economic recovery and development in the post-pandemic period. The two countries need to facilitate economic, trade and investment relations to match their potential and turn them into an important pillar in bilateral ties, they underlined.
