Air cargo service encouraged By Mong Binh - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC - Domestic airlines are encouraged to develop air cargo service now as the licensing of passenger service is probably suspended, an official of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) said. "We have a policy that provides favorable conditions for existing airlines to develop their cargo service and transport cargo by their own freighters," said Vo Huy Cuong, director of CAAV's Air Transport Department. He told the Daily that domestic airlines now carried cargo on their passenger aircraft, and such full-service airlines had to spend more time to load cargo compared to the aircraft of low-cost carriers, as budget carriers had to operate their planes more to maximize revenue.
