New air service offers spectacular views of Red River

Nguyen Nhat Huyen, the commercial deputy director of the Northern Helicopter Company, noted that with the launch of the "Red River HeliTour" from Gia Lam airport, visitors will be able to experience flying on a light, modern helicopter which was manufactured by the US firm Bell. The Red River HeliTour offers visitors the chance of viewing beautiful landscapes through the spacious glass of a Bell 505 aircraft from a height. Notable landmarks on a tour include Long Bien bridge, Bat Trang pottery village, the Ecopark urban area, and Vinhomes Riverside residential area. Le Quoc Khanh, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Helicopter Corporation, said that operating in the field of aviation sector under the Ministry of Defense, the firm has great potential to help develop the tourism industry nationwide due to the country’s numerous beautiful landscapes which are internationally recognised as "natural wonders" and sites of "world cultural and natural heritage". Ho Chi Minh Trail starting point accredited as special national relic

The starting point of the Ho Chi Minh Trail – Km Zero – in the central province of Nghe An’s Tan Ky district (Photo: baonghean.vn) The recognition was announced by the provincial People’s Committee Office on May 13. Tan Ky People’s Committee was tasked with protecting and promoting the site, which is expected to become an attraction of local tourism.  The wartime legendary trail starts from Nghe An and runs through Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and ends in Binh Phuoc. Vietnam fine-tunes maritime laws

With a coastline of more than 3,200 km and thousands of islands including the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos, Vietnam has benefited much from the sea. Vietnam participated in building the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and was one of the first countries to sign and approve the Convention. The 1994 adoption reflects Vietnam’s determination to work with other countries to build an equal order to promote development and cooperation at sea. National maritime policies Its Sea and islands are part of Vietnam’s sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction, and are a living space and a gateway to other countries. Being aware of the importance of sea and islands in national construction and defense, Vietnam has managed fishery exploitation in parallel with defending national sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction at sea in order to build a strong, prosperous country. Vietnam’s traditional crafts promoted as national image

Bat Trang village’s ceramic products Vietnam has some 5,400 craft villages, spanning many different crafts, such as lacquer, ceramics, gold, silver, embroidery, bamboo, rattan, weaving, paper, folk paintings, wood, and stone. Their handicraft products are diverse in design and quality. Van Phuc silk, Bat Trang pottery, and Dong Xam silver carving have been recognized as national brands. Dam Tien Thang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, said that despite their economic value, the potential of traditional craft villages hasn’t been fully tapped. He said “Hanoi craft villages’ annual production is estimated to be nearly 1 billion USD and annual export turnover is approximately 200 million USD a year. Japanese tourist resuced from stroke offshore Nha Trang

A Japanese 75-year-old tourist on a Panama-flagged cruise ship has been saved from stroke off the coast of the southern central province of Khanh Hoa’s Nha Trang City. According to the Vietnam Maritime Rescue Co-operation Centre (VNMRCC) region IV, at around 9:15 pm on December 5, the agency received an urgent call for help from the tourist cruise Ocean Dream’s captain about the Japanese tourist’s critical condition. The Japanese tourist on a Panama-flagged cruise ship has been saved from stroke Makino Tsuneji showed signs of stroke and being in a coma. At that time, the ship which was travelling from Singapore to China was around 170 nautical miles from the southeast of Nha Trang City’s coast. The area where the ship was faced rough waves and strong winds due to Storm Kammuri. Right after that, the centre instructed the first aid for the patient and then sent rescue vessel SAR27-01 for the support.
