Tens of thousands of visitors flocked to Sam Son beaches in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa during the weekend as the northern and central regions experienced a widespread severe heat wave. During the two days of June 25 and 26, some beaches along Ho Xuan Huong Street in Sam Son City were jammed with visitors. A beach near Truong Le Mountain also attracted many visitors. The beaches were most crowded between 3pm-6pm. A staff from the local rescue team monitored the beach on June 25. A report from the Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the city received over 6.80 million visitors during the first half of 2022, up 131.60 percent on year. During the period, Sam Son City received 4.10 million visitors which surpassed that city's target for 2022.
