May 16, 2022 by e.vnexpress.net Leave a Comment

In video footage circulating on social media, about 10 kindergartners were to take a nap at noon. When one boy refuses to go to sleep, a kindergarten teacher goes out and returns with a black plastic bag that she puts over the little boy’s head and beats his buttocks. After realizing that there’s a camera in the classroom, she takes the bag off and takes the boy outside. Tran Yen District officials said the incident happened Saturday at the Bong Sen Kindergarten in Bao Dap Commune. The kindergarten is a new one that opened May 5, they added. An initial investigation has revealed that the boy, over two years old, peed, cried and refused to take a nap. The teacher said she covered the boy’s head with a black plastic bag so he could "fall asleep more easily". The police have been asked to verify the incident for follow-up action against the teacher. … [Read more...] about Teacher covers child’s head with plastic bag for not napping

The following is the full text of the speech. “SINCERITY, TRUST AND RESPONSIBILITY FOR A BETTER WORLD” Dear Dr. John Hamre, President and CEO of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Ladies and gentlemen, I am very happy to visit the Center for Strategic and International Studies for the first time today, though this is far from the first time I hear of the CSIS, a top American think tank in the field of foreign strategies and policies and international issues. Seventy-seven years ago, President Ho Chi Minh, the national hero of Vietnam and great man of culture, prefaced the Declaration of Independence establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam with this untarnishable fact, “All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness.” This was the spirit enshrined within the 1776 Declaration of Independence of the United States of America; it … [Read more...] about Remarks by PM Pham Minh Chinh at CSIS in Washington D.C.

Norwegian Ambassador Grete Lochen writes to Việt Nam News on Norwegian Constitution Day, celebrated on May 17. Another Norwegian Constitution Day has come. I am very happy but also emotional to share my last address on this day as Norwegian Ambassador to Việt Nam. Norwegians celebrate May 17 as our National Day. On this day in 1814, Norway’s first constitution was signed. The Norwegian constitution is the second oldest in the world still in use. 208 years have passed but the core values of sovereignty of the people, separation of powers and individual rights enshrined in our Constitution remain because they form the backbone of Norway today. Openness, free exchange of opinions, inclusive decision-making processes and effective rule of law are the cornerstones of a modern, dynamic society. Therefore, the Norwegian society understands that we must continue to protect these values actively at home and through our international work. This is more important than ever in a world of … [Read more...] about Norway-Việt Nam to further cooperate in various fields

On Kitco.com, at the same time, prices of an ounce of gold slid to $1,812 or $2,183 per tael (1.2 ounces). A tael of gold in Viet Nam was $838 higher than the global price on May 16. Nitin Kapoor-Chairman and general director AstraZeneca Vietnam At AstraZeneca, our scientists, lab researchers, medical, regulatory and corporate affairs teams, amongst others, have worked tirelessly to see this day. We told ourselves that this is probably the only chance in our lifetime to play such an important role in fighting a pandemic of this scale. It was our duty to offer our best to protect the people. We worked closely with the Vietnamese government, the Ministry of Health, VNVC, and other partners to deliver and support the bilateral donations of more than 70 million doses of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine. Our motivation was to ensure that Vietnam would be one of the first countries in Asia to have access to vaccines to save lives. Vietnam now possesses one of the highest vaccination rates in the world, and we cannot be prouder of what we have accomplished together. But as a healthcare company, our responsibility does not stop there. While the hardest part of the … [Read more...] about AstraZeneca: three healthcare priorities in the new normal
