Art Talk “In Search of the Lost Time” Fri 15 Mar 2013, 7 pm Manzi Art Space 14 Phan Huy Ich, Hanoi Hanoi Grapevine and Manzi proudly present a special talk with poet/translator Duong Tuong, writer/educator Pham Toan and writer Bui Ngoc Tan. Looking into the personal experiences and memories of three well-known intellectuals of Vietnam, the talk will offer an opportunity to explore further the country’s tumultuous history in the second half of the 20th century. Exhibition – Installation “Through” by Artist Bao Opening: Tue 14 Jun 2016, 6 pm Exhibition: 14 Jun – 07 Jul 2016 L’Espace 24 Tràng Tiền, Hà Nội You are invited to the exhibition – installation “Through” by Bao. Bao’s work is influenced by an exile – the time during which he lived outside of his home country – and his yearning for an identity then. He began his visual art research in France during his study at the Beaux Arts. In his artistic practice, Bao combines cultural and religious symbols of Vietnam and diverts them: lanterns, altars, old photographs. In this exhibition, he played particularly on the transparency of certain materials – plexiglass, glass, plastic films, spring roll wrappers – to make visible the distant, vague memories. Free entry. Foreign passengers struggle with train schedule changes
Many foreign passengers have had a hard time getting updates about train schedule changes and shuttle buses at Saigon Railway Station after the Ghenh Bridge in Dong Nai Province collapsed at noon on Sunday. Many foreign passengers have had a hard time getting updates about train schedule changes and shuttle buses at Saigon Railway Station The collapse of the old rail bridge, caused by a sand-transporting barge, has disrupted all train services to and from HCMC. After the accident, the railway operator chose Bien Hoa Railway Station as the final stop in the south and suspended the train service between HCMC and Phan Thiet City in the central province of Binh Thuan Province. Saigon Railway Station has posted up announcements in Vietnamese and English about daily train schedules and its plan to coach passengers to Bien Hoa where they can get on trains to travel to central and northern provinces. As an interior designer and abstract painter, and then becoming an ceramic artist, Trinh Vu Hieu appeared to have a simple career path, no force or constrain, like a funny journey. His debut exhibition on brown ceramics inspired by ancient pottery artifacts from Ly-Tran dynasties is a strong evidence for that.
