China's withdrawal from hosting the 2023 Asian Cup could see the showpiece shift west to the Gulf, where new infrastructure and voracious demand for major events has made the region a magnet for international tournaments. Having planned to hold the Asian Cup across 10 cities in June-July next year, China dropped the 24-team tournament due to "exceptional circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic", the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) said over the weekend. The AFC said it would name a new host in due course but provided no detail and declined to provide immediate comment to Reuters . AFC member nations were in the dark on Monday about the next steps. Two British tourists die from traffic accident in Hoi An City
The scene where two British tourists get accident this morning. According to initial information, the traffic accident occurred in front of a house at 208 Hung Vuong Street, Thanh Ha Ward, Hoi An City at 3:40 a.m. on May 16. The two victims were identified as Denver Christophe Marcus (25 years old) and Thompson Peth May (24 years old) holding British citizen cards. The foreigners got the accident while they traveled by a motorbike from the city of Hoi An to Dien Nam Dong Ward, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province. Right after receiving the information, the police of Hoi An City were at the scene for inspection and took the bodies of the two foreigners to the morgue of Hoi An General Hospital. Highest int’l school fee in HCMC to hit $32,500
HCMC is home to more than 20 schools that teach bilingual programs or programs of the U.K., U.S., Canada, and Australia. For the upcoming academic year, most schools have raised their tuition fee by VND15-40 million ($650-1,730) per year against the 2021-2022 school year. Among those that have announced enrollments, the school fees for kindergartens remain around VND100-300 million per year, elementary schools at VND150-500 million per year, and secondary-high schools at VND200-700 million per year. Depending on different schools, the listed fee could or not include funds for books, uniforms, insurance, and extracurricular activities. HCMC has around 2,300 schools, including 1,300 public schools, with the rest all private. Among the private schools, 900 are kindergartens, 100 inter-level schools that comprise classes from first to 12th grades, and more than 20 international schools. Two British tourists die in traffic accident
Two British tourists died in a traffic accident in the central city of Hoi An early Monday morning. The area where the accident occured According to a report from Hoi An Police Department, the accident occured at 3.40am when the two visitors were driving a motorbike on Hung Vuong Street and crashed into an electricity pole. The two, a man and a woman, died on the spot. They were identified as Denver Christopher Marcus, 25, and Thompson Peth May, 24. They are both British citizens. The motorbike was heavily damaged. Police are investigating the cause of the accident. Director of Hoi An Police Department, Dinh Xuan Nghi, said that they needed forensic appraisal to define whether the two were driving under influence.
