Dr. Ho Thi Thanh Van (Photo: VNA) Paris (VNA) – The Jury of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and the L’Oréal Foundation on June 22 presented the L’Oréal-UNESCO International Rising Talent Award in 2022 to Dr. Ho Thi Thanh Van , a chemicals scientist who is working at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment. With her research in developing new materials to the production of green hydrogen, Dr. Van has become one of the 15 young women scientists representing the five continents in the world to receive the award. Since 2000, the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science programme has highlighted the achievements of younger women who are in the early stages of their scientific careers. Each year, the International rising talents programme selects the 15 most promising women scientists among the more than 250 national and regional young talents of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science programme. Since 2000, the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program has highlighted the achievements of younger women who are in the early stages of their scientific careers. Each year, the International rising talents program selects the 15 most promising women scientists among the more than 250 national and regional young talents of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program. The 15 International Rising Talents, selected by an international Selection committee, receive an additional endowment of 15,000 EUR (15,840 USD). (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi still provides a source of inspiration for nominations of the 14th “Bui Xuan Phai: For the Love of Hanoi” Awards amid the COVID-19 tourism freeze. Activities and initiatives regarding Hanoi are part of the “dual goal,” as culture always serves as momentum for the development of any city, according to historian Duong Trung Quoc. Nostalgic works The jury panel has selected dozens of works, ideas and deeds over the past years for nominations. These include projects associated with the city’s development and works by Hanoi citizens and even one foreigner. The book fair in Hanoi is expected to raise awareness of the importance of books. 7 Vietnamese scientists receive Alexandre Yersin award 2021

The Swiss - Vietnamese Medical Association (HELVIETMED) announced on Monday the list of seven Vietnamese scientists who had won the Alexandre Yersin Prize for outstanding research achievements in 2021. The first prize was given to Dr. Dang Quang Vinh and his associates in My Duc Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
