With the aforesaid conclusion, CBSA calculated the dumping margin of Vietnamese exporters based on their actual production costs. According to Canada’s rules, if the governments of exporting countries were found to intervene in the domestic prices of products exported to Canada, Canada would calculate the dumping margin based on prices and production costs of a third country, which often resulted in higher duties. Chinese contractor of Hanoi metro line wants official launch in April
China Railway Sixth Group Co., Ltd. has called for concluding the months-long testing phase by the end of the first quarter to begin operations in April, according to the Ministry of Transport. The ministry has ordered the Railway Project Management Board and the Hanoi Metro Company to review the work before making a decision. The state-owned Chinese firm has been carrying out trial runs along the 13-kilometer (8-mile) line since last September, and three to six months is the normal testing period. However, some 4 percent of other works such as pathways and terminals are yet to be completed. Once the testing concludes, it will be assessed for safety by the Vietnam Register and an independent French unit before being handed over to Hanoi authorities for commercial operation. Ba Ria – Vung Tau licenses, approves 9 investment projects
The southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau on Thursday issued licences to seven projects and greenlighted two others with the nine having a total investment of over VND12.5 trillion (US$548 million). They include some large projects like an LNG plant to be put up by PVGAZPROM NGV at a cost of nearly $13 million and a capacity of 20 million cubic metres a day. The Da Bac 4 Solar Power Plant by Dong A Chau Duc Joint Stock Company will cost nearly VND1.1 trillion ($48 million). The others are the Vung Tau – Con Dao high-speed boat service, a plant to manufacture cement additives, construction of housing for steel workers, expansion of the Hung Thai Inland Container Depot, and a coffee plant. Prime Minister attends coastal road groundbreaking ceremony
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc today, February 14, participated in a ceremony to kick off the construction of a coastal road in the northern province of Thai Binh. The project to build the 34.42km road has a total investment capital of over VND3.87 trillion (USD166.4 million), with VND1.1 trillion from the State budget. Meanwhile, capital mobilised from the local budget and other sources is VND1.59 trillion, while investors contribute VND1.28 trillion under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model.
