President Nguyen Xuan Phuc awarded the title of Typical scientific and technological intellectuals and the Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations to outstanding intellectuals (Photo: VNA) The ceremony honored 106 typical science and technology intellectuals, including 68 people with academic titles, degrees from associate professor, doctorate or higher, 20 masters, 18 bachelor and equivalents. Amongst them, two are labor heroes consisting of 16 women, and 90 men. Those selected for the honor are intellectuals working in institutes, centers, research institutions, universities, enterprises, or agencies of industries, fields, localities or in the VUSTA system for 10 years or more. PANO – Numerous handicraft products made by local ethnic people have been bought by a large number of tourists visiting Sa Pa district, Lao Cai province during special holidays and events. Brocaded and embroidered products such as clothes, bags and towels as well as wooden souvenirs have been selling the best. Others are fruits, vegetables and medicinal plants grown by ethnic people. Vietnam and Australia are both members of at least three free trade agreements, namely ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA), CPTPP and the Regional Economic Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). According to data of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, last year, two-way trade between Vietnam and Australia hit 12.4 billion USD for the first time, up more than 49 percent compared with that of 2020. The value of shipments to Australia reached more than 4.45 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 23 percent. Vietnam spent nearly 8 billion USD in importing goods from Australia, up nearly 70 percent against 2020’s figure. Energy transition critical to net zero emission achievement
In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Vo Tuan Nhan said the ministry recently finalised a draft national strategy on climate change for 2050 so as to devise a roadmap for realising Vietnam’s commitments made at the 26th U.N. Climate Change Conference (COP26), including achieving net zero emissions by 2050, reducing methane emissions, conducting energy transition, and gradually eliminating fossil fuel. This draft has been submitted to the Prime Minister. Ministry announces 10 inland depots

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi – Tan Cang Que Vo in the northern province of Bac Ninh has been added to the list of inland container depots (ICDs) in Vietnam, which now reaches 10 in total, according to a newly-released decision by the Ministry of Transport. The decision announces the list of dry ports in Vietnam, replacing the 2020 decision which does not include Tan Cang Que Vo ICD. The other nine ICDs comprise Hai Linh, Km3+4 Mong Cai, Tan Can Hai Phong, Dinh Vu, Hoang Thanh, Long Bien, Tan Cang Ha Nam, Phuc Loc, and Tan Cang.
